Thinksharp Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Mr. Santosh Phad, a first-generation social entrepreneur with a transformative vision: “To bridge the Rural-Urban education divide.” At the heart of the foundation is the belief that every child, regardless of their geographical location, has an inherent right to access quality education. Thinksharp Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that children in rural India are given the opportunity to receive the education they deserve, equipping them with the tools to build a better future.

The foundation’s mission is driven by the urgent need to address the stark educational disparities between rural and urban India. A staggering 67% of the Indian population resides in rural areas, and within these areas, approximately 19.66 crore children are enrolled in schools from 1st to 8th standard. Despite the large number of students in rural schools, the education system continues to face significant challenges. According to U-DISE 2015-16, 14.65 crore children are enrolled in rural schools, yet the necessary investments in rural education have not been made to elevate the quality of teaching and learning. This lack of investment has resulted in a concerning gap in educational outcomes, leaving many children in rural India without access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

To tackle this issue, Thinksharp Foundation has developed an innovative solution called Project StudyMall. The concept of a ‘StudyMall’ is inspired by the modern-day mall, which is a hub of activities where people come together to engage, learn, and interact. A StudyMall, however, is an educational hub specifically designed for rural children. It is a free-of-charge initiative where children can come to read, learn, and play, engaging in a variety of educational activities that go beyond traditional classroom learning.

Through Project StudyMall, the foundation aims to create a vibrant learning ecosystem that fosters holistic development in children. The program provides access to books, educational materials, and hands-on activities that stimulate curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. The StudyMalls are designed to be community-driven spaces, where children can not only gain academic knowledge but also develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills in a fun and interactive environment.

Thinksharp Foundation is committed to creating sustainable and scalable models that address the pressing need for educational reform in rural India. With a focus on empowerment and inclusivity, the organization aims to inspire change and transform the educational landscape in rural communities, ultimately bridging the gap between rural and urban education and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive.
